Virtual/In-Person Learning Video

Virtual/In-Person Learning

Our goal at Edgewood is to nurture the whole child for success both at Edgewood and for later in life, and that sense of care for them as individuals will guide us in the relationships we develop with them over the course of the year, both during virtual learning and during in-person learning when it is safe to return to being together.

  • Keys to success: good communication, planning the coming year with parent and student feedback in mind, and tech training for students and teachers to ensure success in virtual school.
  • During virtual learning, we will follow our normal cycle schedule, with students in virtual class during the
normal school day. We will offer:
    • Synchronous learning (the whole class is virtually together with their teacher for large group discussion/class)
    • Asynchronous learning (students are working in teacher-supported small group breakout settings or on teacher-supported individual project/content work).
  • Content area teachers will communicate weekly with students and parents about the work in their course for the coming week, along with the virtual tools that students will be using to do that work.
  • Students can expect streamlined/consistent technology use across disciplines, with training videos for students and parents/guardians to use before the school year begins, or to use for support during the year.
